The short version, in the same spirit as our pricing: we collect what we need to design your system and get you a quote, we tell you exactly what that is, and we don't sell your information.

What we collect, and why

Who it's shared with

Your choices and rights

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We do “share” it in the specific sense California law means: when you arrive from a Google or Meta ad we can pass an advertising identifier back to that platform so we can tell which ads actually produce customers. California counts that as sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, so you get to switch it off — and switching it off changes nothing about the site or your quote.

Two ways, both of which work immediately:

This sets a preference in this browser, revokes advertising consent with Google and Meta, and deletes any advertising identifiers already stored here. It applies to this browser on this device — if you use another, set it there too. You can also just decline the banner when it appears; the effect is identical.

We honour Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out automatically — you do not have to click anything, and we will not ask you to reconsider.

California privacy rights

If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the rights below. We extend all of them to everyone, regardless of where you live, because building two standards seemed like the wrong instinct.

Categories we collect, in California’s vocabulary: identifiers (name, email, optional phone, property address, IP address); commercial information (your design, the quote you were given); internet activity (which pages you saw, which campaign brought you); and geolocation only at the level of the property address you typed yourself. Categories we disclose: identifiers and internet activity to the advertising platforms named above — and only if you have not opted out. We disclose your contact details and design to our installation partner because someone has to build the system. We do not disclose your power bill to anyone.

How to make a request: email hello@fairwatt.solar and say what you want. We will confirm within 10 business days and respond within 45, which the law lets us extend once if it is genuinely complicated. We may need to verify you are who you say you are — usually by replying from the address you gave us. An authorised agent may act for you with written permission. We do not charge for any of this.

Retention

Advertising attribution expires after 90 days. Quote requests stay in our customer system until your project is complete or you ask us to delete them. An uploaded power bill is deleted along with the quote request — that means deleting the file at Netlify, not only the record in our system, so the link stops working.
